Bradford Staffing believes in working hard...and playing hard !

Much of our "play" involves our community involvement activities, as you see below.

Augusta County Fair

Every year, Bradford Staffing gives out the "best free popcorn at the Augusta County Fair." We serve over 2500 bags that week alone while taking names of people who want us to "POP" them into their next job.

Chili Fest

For years we've cooked up 10 gallons of chili and enter Waynesboro’s Downtown Development’s Chili Contest. Known as “no beer, no deer, just good old fashioned chili”. We believe Mary’s family recipe must be better than Wendy's chili—‘M’ comes ahead of ‘W’ in the alphabet.

Company Outing

Since Thomas & Mary are big into the outdoors, each year our internal people are invited to a cabin somewhere near the Appalachian Trail and the Shenandoah National Park. A simple time of fishing, throwing horseshoes, eating burgers and hot dogs, and generally having a good time.

Disability Employer of the Year

In 2006, we placed 22 people with a disability into a full-time permanent position. The Department of Rehabilitative Services (DRS) honored us with the Virginia State Disability Employer of the Year. Governor Tim Kaine, at a special breakfast, brought us to Richmond to thank us personally for the work we did.

Employee Appreciation Day

When W-2s are given out, we thank the workforce by having an appreciation day filled with snacks, food, and a chance to meet not only the internal employees, but the contractors that help us with other benefits—like free checking, free safety deposit boxes, identity theft insurance, bridge health insurance, IRAs, etc. Plus, we give away a 1/2 day's paid vacation!

Golf Tournament

The Greater Verona Business Association hosts a golf tournament. We set up at the sixth hole, serving mimosas to each golfer after they finished the fifth, and just before tee off at the sixth hole.

This was so much fun, we now go to 3-4 non-profit fundraising golf tournaments to help those golfers improve their scores.

Virginia Department for the Blind and Visually Impaired

We had a great time at the Virginia Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI) Open House. We enjoy working with individuals and helping them to succeed! Thank you for our award!

Sweet Dreams

Stuarts Draft and Augusta County hosts a summer festival that includes a Little Debbie look alike contest. We had a great time at the 13th Annual Sweet Dreams Festival! We even got to talk to Willy Wonka!

jamestown-showcase.jpg

Jamestown Business Showcase

The chamber hosts a business showcase where companies can display what they do. For the event held the same year Jamestown became 400 years old, we were there. Yes, complete with Indian costumes and Capt. John Smith attire, we advertised that if you want ’em, we got ’em. After all, we were staffing since Pocahontas came to town.

Verona Community Food Pantry

We are a proud supporter of the 3rd Annual Build a Meal Project benefiting the Verona Community Food Pantry.

taste-of-town.jpg

Taste of the Town

When Waynesboro gathered 15 – 20 chefs and has each of them make their favorite recipe. We not only entered the contest but also truly served something B.A.D. It was, of course, “Bradford's Amaretto Delight Ice Cream.”

valentine-day.jpg

Valentine's Day Business Showcase

The Chamber hosts a business showcase where companies can display what they do. For one held on Valentine’s Day, we not only had a booth, we brought Saint Valentine himself. Our ad to businesses was that St. Valentine married Romans in 200 AD; Bradford can get a marriage between your company and your next employee.

Womanless Beauty Contest

In giving back to the community, it’s not always a momentary thing. Vector Industries works with the mentally and physically disabled, and their facility needed lots of work done. Thomas entered the Womanless Beauty Contest, adding a whole new meaning to “pretty in pink.” He did, however, walk away with the “Miss Sweet Dreams” trophy.
